The Slow World
On Faculty of String Instruments, Harp, Guitar and Violin-Making, at Poznan Academy of Music, there are some basement rooms, where violin making students build their instruments. I was taken by its slow pace so completely different from the hectic life of academy halls. |

The Nutcracker behind the curtain
Every winter in almost all opera houses one can find Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker. Since I was a little girl I have always wandered how this ballet looks like from behind the curtain. I photographed it in Oslo Opera, with dancers from the Norwegian National Ballet and the Ballet School, with choreography by Dinna Bjorn. |

Viola in Five Days
During the Polish Viola Competition of Jan Rakowski, students of lute making department built a new "in white" viola in five days only. Their hard work was rewarded with very fine sound of the newly created instrument. |

Opera house is never a quiet place. Morning and afternoon rehearsals, lessons, meetings, administrative work keeps busy hundreds people every day, and almost every evening there is a performance. La Sylphide
In the spring of 2010 Poznan Opera Ballet prepared the classical version of La Sylphide with choreography by August Bournonville. The photographs show dancers during rehearsals with Karina Elver from The Royal Danish Ballet. |
